Ring Helvick Water Supply Scheme

The works were located on the western outskirts of Dungarvan, along the Ring Helvick peninsula in Co.Waterford at various locations along the N25, R674 and local roads between these locations. David Walsh Civil Engineering Ltd. provided a successful Temporary Traffic Management design, implementation, maintenance & removal service on this project which involved extensive works on the heavily trafficked N25 national route between Dungarvan and Youghal.

The project consisted of the design, construction, testing and commissioning of the new water supply scheme. Works involved the construction of new rising & distribution watermains (circa 13km) and decommission of the existing water treatment plant. Works included the construction of 2 new MMC control buildings/pumping stations and 3 new storage reservoirs. The project involved auger boring under the River Brickey, which was located in a Foreshore Area and was designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA).
